Terms of Service
Effective 28 September 2026 · Last updated 28 September 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Freezi ("Freezi", "we", "us") that governs your use of the Freezi mobile app, website and related services (together, the "Service"). Please read them carefully. By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines.
1. Who can use Freezi
To create an account and use the Service, you must:
- be at least 18 years old;
- be legally able to enter into a binding contract with us;
- not be prohibited from using the Service under the laws that apply to you;
- not have been convicted of, or have pleaded guilty to, a sexual or violent offence; and
- not have had a Freezi account removed by us, unless we have given you written permission to create a new one.
You may hold only one personal account. Accounts are for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Your account
You sign in with your email address and password. For extra security, we may also email you a one-time code to confirm it's you, and we use codes to reset a forgotten password. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure and for all activity under your Freezi account. Never share a sign-in code with anyone. Freezi staff will never ask you for one.
You agree to give accurate information when you register and to keep it up to date. If you believe someone else has accessed your account, contact us immediately through the in-app Help chat or at our support email.
3. Your content
"Your content" means anything you add to the Service, including your profile details, photos, messages and attachments. You keep ownership of your content. You are responsible for it and you confirm that you have the right to share it.
To operate the Service, you grant Freezi a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce, resize, display and transmit your content, only for the purpose of providing, securing and improving the Service. For example, this lets us show your profile to other members in Discover and deliver your messages. This licence ends when your content is deleted from the Service, except for copies we must keep for legal reasons or that are held in routine backups for a limited time.
Profile photos must be of you, and must not include children on their own, other people without their permission, or anything that breaks our Community Guidelines.
4. How you must behave
You agree to follow our Community Guidelines. In particular, you must not:
- impersonate anyone, or misrepresent your identity, age or intentions;
- harass, threaten, bully, stalk, intimidate or defame anyone;
- post hateful, violent, sexually explicit or illegal content;
- ask other members for money or financial information, or run scams, schemes or spam;
- use the Service to advertise, sell or solicit, including commercial sex;
- collect other members' personal information, or share it outside the Service without their consent;
- use bots, scrapers or automated means to access the Service, or interfere with its security or operation; or
- help or encourage anyone else to do any of these things.
5. Discover, matches and messages
Discover shows you other members based on the preferences you set. When two members like each other, they are matched and a private conversation opens between them. We do not guarantee any number of matches, that any member will reply, or that you will meet someone.
You can edit a message for a short time after sending it (currently 2 minutes) and delete it for a longer time (currently 15 minutes). Deleting a message removes it from the conversation for both members, but the other member may already have seen it.
6. Freezi VIP and payments
Freezi is free to use. Freezi VIP is an optional subscription that adds extra features. What it includes and its price are shown in the app before you buy.
- Buying in the app. On iPhone and Android, VIP is sold through the Apple App Store or Google Play and charged to your store account, in your local currency, when you confirm.
- Automatic renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period, at the same length and the then-current price, unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Cancelling. Cancel any time in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. VIP stays active until the end of the period you've paid for. Deleting the app or your Freezi account does not cancel a store subscription.
- Refunds. Refunds for store purchases are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. If a purchase is refunded, the VIP time it paid for ends.
- One account. A subscription unlocks VIP on the Freezi account it was bought from. Use Restore purchases on the VIP screen after reinstalling or changing phones.
- Other payments. Where we offer VIP outside the stores (for example by bank transfer on the web), the price and period are shown before you pay, and those payments do not renew automatically.
We may change what VIP includes, but we will not reduce your features during a period you have already paid for.
7. In-app shop and orders
Where available, Freezi may let you buy products through the app, either from Freezi or from sellers we work with. Prices and availability are shown before you pay. Payments are processed by third-party payment providers, and delivery is arranged by us or our delivery partners using the recipient details you give us. If something is wrong with an order, contact us through the in-app Help chat and we will work with you to resolve it.
8. Your safety and other members
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other members, online and in person. Freezi does not run criminal background checks or identity verification on its members, and we cannot guarantee anyone's identity, intentions or conduct. Please read our safety tips and take sensible precautions, especially when meeting someone for the first time.
9. Reports, moderation and ending your account
You can report a member or a problem through the in-app Help chat. We review reports and may, at our discretion and without prior notice, remove content, restrict features, suspend or permanently close accounts that we believe break these Terms or our Community Guidelines, create risk for other members or for Freezi, or where the law requires it. Where appropriate we may also share information with law enforcement, as described in our Privacy Policy.
You can stop using Freezi at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account through the Help chat or our support email. If you have a VIP subscription, cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings first: deleting your account doesn't stop store billing.
10. Freezi's rights
The Service, including its design, software, logos and the Freezi name, belongs to Freezi and its licensors and is protected by law. We give you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose while these Terms apply. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer or resell any part of the Service.
11. Disclaimers
We work hard to keep Freezi available and reliable, but the Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranties, express or implied, that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, or about the conduct of any member.
12. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Freezi will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Service or from the conduct of any member, online or offline. Our total liability to you for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or ₦50,000. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify Freezi against claims, losses and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your content, your breach of these Terms or your interactions with other members, to the extent permitted by law.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Before starting any formal proceedings, please contact us so we can try to resolve the issue informally. If we cannot resolve it within 30 days, the dispute may be brought before the courts of Lagos State, Nigeria, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring it elsewhere.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the Service after the change takes effect, you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the Service and ask us to delete your account.
Questions about these Terms? Message us through Profile → Help in the app, or email .
Legal
Privacy Policy
Effective 28 September 2026 · Last updated 28 September 2026
Dating is personal, and so is the information you share with us. This policy explains what information Freezi collects, why, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to the Freezi app, this website and our support services.
The short version
- We collect what we need to run a dating service: your account, your profile, your matches and your messages.
- Other members see your profile card (name, age, city, bio and photos), never your email, phone number or exact birthdate.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- Conversations saved on your phone are kept in an encrypted database and wiped when you log out.
- You can access, correct or delete your information at any time.
1. Information you give us
- Account details: your email address, phone number, password (stored only as a secure hash) and, if you set one, your username.
- Profile information: display name, date of birth, gender, who you'd like to see, age-range preference, bio, city, photos, and whether your profile is shown in Discover. Some of this, such as your gender and dating preferences, may be considered sensitive in some countries. You choose to provide it so we can show you relevant people.
- Messages and attachments: messages, photos and files you send to your matches and to our support team.
- Support and reports: what you tell us when you contact support or report a member or problem.
- Orders: if you buy something in the app, the items, the recipient name, phone number, delivery address and delivery note you give us.
2. Information we collect automatically
- Activity: the likes and passes you make, your matches, and when you were last active.
- Device information: an identifier generated for your installation of the app, your device platform, and a push-notification token if you allow notifications.
- Payment information: what you paid for, the amount, and payment references and status from our payment providers. For VIP bought in the app, Apple or Google tell us the subscription, its dates, whether it renews, and a purchase reference. We never receive your card or bank details.
- Technical and security logs: such as IP address, request times and error reports, used to keep the Service running and secure.
3. How we use your information
| Purpose | Legal basis |
| Create and secure your account, including sending sign-in and password-reset codes | Performing our contract with you |
| Show your profile to other members and show you people who match your preferences | Performing our contract with you; your consent for sensitive details you choose to add |
| Deliver messages and send notifications about matches and messages | Performing our contract with you; your consent for push notifications |
| Provide paid features and process payments, orders and deliveries | Performing our contract with you |
| Answer support requests, review reports and enforce our Terms and Community Guidelines | Our legitimate interest in keeping members safe |
| Prevent fraud, spam and abuse, and keep the Service secure | Our legitimate interests; legal obligations |
| Fix problems and improve the Service | Our legitimate interests |
| Comply with the law and respond to lawful requests | Legal obligations |
4. What other members can see
Members who see you in Discover, or who match with you, can see your profile card: display name, age (worked out from your date of birth, which itself is never shown), city, bio and photos. Your matches can also see the messages you send them. When you like someone, they can see that someone liked them; seeing who is a VIP perk. If you're VIP, a VIP badge is shown on your profile, and with Incognito on you're shown in Discover only to people you've liked. Other members never see your email address, phone number or password.
5. Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers who process data for us under contract: our hosting and server providers, our email delivery provider (for sign-in codes), Google Firebase Cloud Messaging and Apple Push Notification service (to deliver notifications), and our payment providers such as Paystack and Kora (to process payments made in the app).
- Apple and Google, who process in-app VIP subscriptions under their own privacy policies. We send them a random code linked to your account so a purchase can't be claimed by another account.
- Delivery partners, who receive the recipient name, phone number and address needed to deliver an order.
- Sellers on the in-app shop, who may receive the order details needed to fulfil your order.
- Legal and safety reasons: to comply with the law, respond to valid legal requests, protect the safety of any person, or investigate fraud or violations of our Terms.
- Business transfers: if Freezi is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal, under this policy's protections.
6. How we protect your information
- Data travels between the app and our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- Passwords, sign-in codes and session tokens are stored only as secure hashes. Codes expire after 10 minutes and are locked after 5 wrong attempts.
- Conversations saved on your phone for fast, offline access are kept in an encrypted database and are wiped from the device when you log out.
- Uploaded photos and files are only served to signed-in members, not published openly on the web.
- Access to member data within Freezi is limited to staff who need it to run the Service and support members.
No system is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the relevant authorities of a data breach where the law requires it.
7. How long we keep information
We keep your information while your account is open. When you ask us to delete your account, we delete or anonymise your profile, photos and messages within 30 days, except for information we must keep longer: for example, order and payment records for tax and accounting purposes, or information about a member removed for safety reasons, kept to prevent them from returning. Routine backups are overwritten on a rolling basis.
8. Your rights and choices
Subject to the law that applies to you, including the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, you have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy of it;
- correct information that is inaccurate. Most of your profile can be edited directly in the app;
- delete your account and personal information;
- object to or restrict certain uses of your information;
- withdraw consent at any time, for example by turning off notifications or removing optional profile details;
- data portability, where applicable; and
- complain to a data protection authority, such as the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.
In the app you can also pause "Show me in Discover" to stop appearing to new people, and turn notifications on or off in Settings. To make any other request, message us through Profile → Help or email . We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will respond within the time the law requires.
9. Children
Freezi is only for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 18, we will close it and delete their information. If you believe a minor is using Freezi, please report it to us.
10. International transfers
Some of our service providers may process information outside your country. Where that happens, we take steps required by law to ensure your information stays protected, such as contractual safeguards.
11. This website
This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It remembers your light or dark theme choice in your browser's local storage, which never leaves your device. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which means your browser connects to Google's servers. The Help Center's "Report a problem" form does not send anything to us. It prepares a message on your device for you to send yourself.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service changes. If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
For privacy questions or requests, message us through Profile → Help in the app, or email .
Community
Community Guidelines
Effective 28 September 2026
Freezi works when everyone can be themselves and feel safe doing it. These guidelines apply to your profile, your photos, your messages and your behaviour toward anyone you meet through Freezi, in the app and in person. Breaking them can get your account removed.
Do- Use recent photos that clearly show you
- Be honest about your age and who you are
- Be kind, even when you're not interested
- Take "no" for an answer, the first time
- Report anything that feels wrong
Don't- Pretend to be someone else
- Ask anyone for money
- Send unsolicited sexual content
- Promote, sell or spam
- Share someone's private information
Be yourself
Your profile should be you: your real age, your own recent photos, and one account per person. Don't impersonate anyone, including celebrities, other members or people you know, and don't create profiles for someone else or on behalf of a business.
Be respectful
We have zero tolerance for harassment, bullying, threats or intimidation. Don't send repeated unwanted messages, and don't try to contact someone outside Freezi after they've made it clear they're not interested. Discrimination or hate based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation or age has no place here.
Keep it appropriate
- No nudity, sexually explicit content or sexual acts in profile photos or bios.
- Don't send sexual messages or images to someone who hasn't clearly welcomed them.
- No graphic violence, gore, or content that glorifies self-harm.
- Absolutely nothing that involves or sexualises anyone under 18. We remove these accounts immediately and report them to the authorities.
No scams, spam or solicitation
Never ask another member for money, gifts, cryptocurrency, bank details or investment "opportunities", whatever the story. Don't use Freezi to advertise, sell products or services, recruit followers, or solicit commercial sex. If someone asks you for money, stop replying and report them.
Nothing illegal or dangerous
Don't use Freezi for anything illegal, including selling drugs or weapons, human trafficking, or promoting violence or terrorism. Don't threaten anyone or encourage anyone to harm themselves or others.
Respect privacy
Don't share another person's private information, such as their phone number, address, workplace, or screenshots of your private conversations, without their consent. Don't post photos of other people without their permission, or of children on their own.
Meeting in person
These guidelines still apply when you meet someone from Freezi. Respect boundaries, get clear consent, and be honest about your intentions. See our safety tips for meeting safely.
Reporting
If someone breaks these guidelines or makes you feel unsafe, tell us through Profile → Help in the app. Include their name as shown in the app, what happened, and screenshots if you can. A member of our team reviews every report, and reports are confidential: we never tell the other person who reported them. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.
What happens when guidelines are broken
Depending on how serious it is, we may remove content, issue a warning, limit features, or suspend or permanently remove an account, sometimes without warning. Serious harm, threats, exploitation or anything involving minors leads to immediate removal and may be reported to law enforcement. Members who have been removed may not create new accounts.
Think we got something wrong? Contact us through the Help chat or email and we'll take another look.
